Lint or dandruff
Keep a lint brush at the office, in your car and at home. Also, check clothes after placing a linen napkin on your lap.
Visible roots (hair color)
Keep yourself on a regular hair maintenance program. For really visible roots (more than an inch), consider wearing hair in a french twist or ponytail.
Missing/loose buttons
If you can not repair them yourself, ask your tailor or dry cleaner. This also applies to snaps and hooks.
Falling hems/linings/alterations
Ask your tailor or dry cleaner to fix. Remember, even 1/4 of an inch can make a difference in how a garment looks on you. If yo can't alter every garment at once, alter the one you will be wearing the most first.
Too tight or too short clothing
Alter garment or retire it. If you think it's too tight, too short or too revealing, trust yourself: it is.
Too much tucked in skirt or pants
To have a smooth line, women tuck blouses into panty hose or boxer for men.
Hosiery runs
Keep a spare pair at the office and in your car. Wear only sheer-tone nylons with open toe shoes.
Visible undergarments
Use body glue to keep undergarment in place. Buy seamless underwear or wear pantyhose instead.
Scuffed shoes and bags
Use a felt marker or shoe polish to eliminate scuffs.
Chipped nails
Touch up any chips in nail color immediately. Keep nail color at the office and in the car.
Visible lip liner
Never wear lip liner darker than lip color. Add lip color after meals if needed.
Outdated hairstyles
See a professional image consultant to recommend a hair stylist that will show you styles that flatters your hair texture, styling ability, face shape and personality.
Outdated accessories
Eyeglasses and basic, everyday jewerly should be updated every two years.
Too much jewelry
For business: avoid clanking bracelets, one ring per hand, one earring per ear and simple necklace.

- Dry, brittle and non maintenance hair is a no no. Somethings can not be done at home. Hair should be professionally maintanence for conditioning, trims or cuts, and color on a regular basis.
- Wigs that don't look real and not properly sized. Just like clothes, wigs need to be altered by getting treated, shaped or thinned out to suit your features and lifestyle.
- Makeup applied incorrectly, not blended and wrong shade. Remember to purchase a color for summer and winter months.
- Not making sure you don't have a After 5 shadow.
- Dragon-lady nails in bright colors and designs.
- Heels that are so high they throw off your walk. When wearing heels, should be able to walk in ease and confidence.
- Worn down shoe heels. Make sure all shoes and boots make a trip to the shoe repair to replace taps and heels. Remember to have shoe polish in the home and travel bag.
- Stir-up pants that show the stirrup part at the ankle. Hide them with either shoe boot or scrundched down socks.
- Too big shoulder pads. A nicely rounded pair of shoulder pads that fit smoothly over your shoulder is the perfect size.
- Not updating your look. Schedule to meet with EA Image Advisor to recommend how to update your look at least once a year.
